Strive Reaches Major Treasury Milestone with 25,000 BTC

Asset management firm Strive has officially crossed a major corporate milestone, expanding its digital asset treasury to an exact total of 25,000 Bitcoin. According to an official Form 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the firm acquired 469 Bitcoin between September 8 and September 11. The transaction, valued at approximately $36.6 million, was executed at an average purchase price of $77,954 per coin. This latest addition follows a consistent accumulation trend that has rapidly elevated Strive's status within the corporate cryptocurrency landscape.

The company's aggressive strategy has transformed its balance sheet since its strategic merger with Semler Scientific earlier in the year. By maintaining a steady cadence of weekly and bi-weekly tranches, Strive has successfully cemented its position alongside the world's premier institutional holders of digital assets.

Financing via SATA Preferred Stock Avoids Common Dilution

A notable aspect of Strive's latest acquisition is its financial structuring. CEO Matt Cole confirmed that 100% of the capital deployed for the $36.6 million purchase was raised through the company’s Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Preferred Stock, trading under the ticker SATA. Crucially, the transaction did not require the issuance of any new common equity, thereby shielding existing common shareholders from dilution.

With this latest capital raise, the cumulative notional value of outstanding SATA preferred stock has surpassed the $1.04 billion mark. This milestone validates management's core thesis: matching long-duration Bitcoin assets with long-duration preferred equity instruments. Strive also reported an amplification ratio of 53.5%, reflecting the growing proportion of preferred capital working to drive underlying Bitcoin exposure relative to net asset value.

Broader Balance Sheet Health and Market Implications

Beyond its core cryptocurrency holdings, Strive maintains a robust liquidity buffer. Financial disclosures indicate that the firm holds approximately $204.2 million in cash and cash equivalents, alongside a substantial position in Strategy's variable-rate preferred stock (STRC) valued near $49.81 million. This diversified liquidity structure provides the firm with operational flexibility independent of short-term cryptocurrency price volatility.

  • Asset Accumulation: Total holdings stand precisely at 25,000 BTC.
  • Capital Efficiency: 100% funding via SATA preferred stock protects common equity.
  • Liquidity Buffer: Over $204 million in unencumbered cash supports ongoing operations.

What Institutional Investors Should Watch

As Strive continues to scale its digital asset operations, market participants and institutional investors should monitor several key metrics moving forward:

  • SATA Yields and Demand: Watch whether sustained market demand for the SATA preferred stock can maintain its pace without introducing excessive yield pressures on the balance sheet.
  • Corporate Rankings: Management has publicly voiced ambitions to climb further up the corporate Bitcoin treasury leaderboard by year-end, potentially targeting second place.
  • Macro Volatility: Monitor how Strive's amplification ratio reacts to broader fluctuations in Bitcoin spot prices and prevailing interest rate environments.
